Items Needed

Windows Laptops must meet the following minimum specifications:

+ Intel microprocessor, at least i-series

+ Memory at least 2Gb

+ Display, keyboard, and Ethernet network connection must be working

+ No hard disk is required and can be removed if desired (if disk remains installed, it will be securely erased before deployment with a 3-pass wipe process)

+ No operating system required

+ Must have AC adapter power cord, although the battery does not need to be functional and can be removed

Windows laptops or desktops purchased from roughly 2015 or later should meet these specifications

Apple MacBook Laptops must meet the following minimum specifications:

+ Intel microprocessor, at least i-series

+ Memory at least 4Gb

+ Display, keyboard, and wireless must be working

+ At least 256Gb hard disk or SSD is required (will be overwritten with Ubuntu Linux)

+ No operating system required

+ Must have AC adapter power cord

Apple MacBook Pro and MacBook Air laptops from roughly 2015 or later should meet these specifications

19” flat panel monitors must meet the following minimum specifications:

+ Must be functional with reasonable color and brightness

+ No flickering or other obvious signs of impending failure

USB optical mice

USB keyboards with no dead keys

Donations will be placed in public schools in Tanzania for use by students and teachers, so please consider what would be sufficient quality for several years of operation.
