Phase 2, Phase 3, and more [2021-10-09]

It’s been a very busy time for Reneal since the last blog post, including two new computer lab installations as a part of our Phase 2 program with donor Apto Solutions, Reneal Country Director David Nyangaka presenting a paper at the 1st International Conference on Digital Transformation in Dar es Salaam, receipt of the first set of laptops from Apto Solutions for the Phase 3 projects, and the (less glamorous) job of doing an update on all servers in Tanzania.

Phase 2 Continues [2021-09-02]

Last month, Reneal Team Tanzania began the 2021 Phase 2 work in Handeni District in Tanga Region.  Thanks to a generous donation of laptop computers from Apto Solutions, six public high schools in Handeni District have new computer labs!  Reneal’s latest Phase 2 project was much closer to home.  Last week Reneal Team Tanzania installed a new computer lab at Arusha Day Secondary School, and they returned on Monday for Super Use training and Teacher Orientation.

Phase 2 Update [2021-08-06]

In the last post, Reneal Team Tanzania was on the brink of departing for Handeni District in Tanga Region to begin the installation of the equipment generously donated by Apto Solutions.  There was a slight delay in order for some of the schools to complete their computer room preparations, but the Team finally headed to Handeni last Saturday.  I am thrilled to report that after six days of extremely hard work, there are now six schools in Handeni District with new computer labs!  Congrats to Handeni District Council officials, School Heads, and Reneal Team Tanzania for this amazing progress!

Phase 2 Kicks Off! [2021-07-14]

Reneal Team Tanzania has continued to work miracles, installing the equipment donated by Apto Solutions in support of the 2021 Phase 1 projects.  Four new computer labs were installed in May.  Then during June, the Team expanded four very active existing Reneal labs in Arusha District.  Anywhere from 10-17 units were added at each of these labs, giving more seats for student use.  There is one more school remaining in this expansion effort, but it should be completed by early August.  And now the Team is embarking on Phase 2!

Visit of the Mwenge wa Uhuru [2021-06-27]

It’s been a very busy time here at Reneal since my last post.  In Tanzania, Reneal Country Director David Nyangaka worked day and night supporting Arusha Region as it hosted the annual visit of the National Torch.  And here in the US, Phase 2 equipment from Apto Solutions arrived!  We’ve been preparing the shipment that will bring Reneal computer labs to 11 additional public high schools in Tanzania.  Thank you so much, Apto Solutions!

Phase 1 continues [2021-06-09]

In the time since my last post, progress on the 2021 Phrase 1 projects has continued.  Reneal’s Team Tanzania and partners from Habari Node and Arusha Node Marie completed installation and training for the new computer lab at Kinana Secondary School.  We are so excited to have Kimaseki, Suye, Elerai, and Kinana Secondary Schools as part of the Reneal family now, thanks to the generous donation

Phase 1 continues [2021-05-16]

Since the last post, Reneal’s Team Tanzania and partners from Habari Node and Arusha Node Marie have continued their work.  Welcome Suye Secondary School and Elerai Secondary School to the Reneal family!  And tomorrow will bring a new computer lab at Kinana Secondary School.  Reneal is very excited to support these schools in the city of Arusha, bringing computers and learning materials to the students and teachers there.  Following completion of the new labs, Reneal and our partners will expand five existing Reneal computer labs in Arusha District.  These labs are very active already, and we are excited to provide additional seats in the lab for even more use by the students.

Phase 1 underway! [2021-05-03]

The long-awaited moment arrived today – installation of the computer equipment generously donated by Apto Solutions has begun!  Reneal Team Tanzania and our partners from Habari Node and Arusha Node Marie were at Kimaseki Secondary School, and in just a few short hours they turned an empty room into a new computer lab.    Reneal was thrilled to be greeted by parents, community members, and teachers who have worked hard to prepare for this moment.  Installations of new computer labs at Elerai, Kinana, and Suye Secondary Schools will follow soon after computer teacher (SUPER USER) training and teacher orientation is completed at Kimaseki.

Thank you Apto Solutions! [2021-04-04]

This last week brought a flurry of activity here at Reneal headquarters, thanks to another generous donation of computer equipment from Apto Solutions (www.aptosolutions.com).   Everything is in place now to execute the Q2 project plan!  Reneal Team Tanzania and Reneal’s partners in Arusha will install computer labs in four new government secondary schools in Arusha City Council, as well as expand five very active existing Reneal labs.

Team in motion [2021-03-02]

Reneal Team Tanzania continues to make beginning-of-the-year visits to all of the schools in Arusha Region with Reneal computer labs.  It’s been a bit of a challenge due to a recent spate of electricity outages.  And with Reneal now up to 31 lab installations in Arusha Region, it’s a big task even when things go smoothly.  Thanks to Robert Nyangaka, Erick Mneney, and Anold Christopher in leading this effort!
