On the road again [2015-01-06]

No matter how much time I spend revising our gear list, packing for another Reneal IEO trip is always a challenge.  We’ll be spending two months in the Philippines this time, embarking on the long-awaited 2015 project plan.  Fortunately we don’t need to carry much computer equipment this trip, but it will still be a formidable load of stuff to get from California to Cebu.

We’ll start the trip by visiting many of the 2014 schools.  We hope to hear about the things that worked well and those that didn’t.  Such feedback is invaluable as we continue to try to improve the Reneal IEO low-cost computer system.  We have a list of updates to make at the 2014 schools, including the latest version of “systemCheck”, Neal’s comprehensive maintenance and diagnostic program.  We will also store the new training videos on their servers.  We will be adding the application Qucs, an Open Source electrical circuit simulation tool.  Then late next week, we hope to begin the installation work at the 2015 schools.  After many months of planning, it is exciting to be on the brink of getting the 2015 projects officially under way!

We will try to stay in touch with regular updates through the blog and the Reneal IEO Facebook page, as we join again with Reneal IEO Team Philippines in Cebu!
